Waupaca County board accepts $20,186 in donations for sheriff’s programs

The Waupaca County Board of Supervisors on Dec. 20 accepted two donation packages totaling $20,186 to support sheriff’s office programs.
Resolution No. 32 authorizes acceptance of $9,600: $6,900 from 715 Harvest Fest and $3,000 from Bank First to support the Waupaca County Sheriff’s Office Dive Team. A fiscal note directs placement of the funds in a donation-restricted account. The Finance and Law Enforcement Committee recommended the resolution and the board adopted it by unanimous vote.
Resolution No. 33 authorizes acceptance of $10,586 in donations divided among multiple programs: $1,000 from Walleyes for Kids, Inc. to support Shop with a Cop; $3,000 from BankFirst, $2,500 from Petersen Chrysler Dodge Jeep and Ram and $1,586 from Community Foundation of Central Wisconsin to support the Dive Team; and $2,500 from Petersen Chrysler Dodge Jeep and Ram to support the K9 program. The board adopted the resolution unanimously; the fiscal note places the total in a donation-restricted account.
Both resolutions were introduced by the Finance and Law Enforcement Committee and approved by the County Board (votes recorded as unanimous on the meeting minutes). The donations are earmarked for specified sheriff’s programs and require no additional appropriation beyond placement in restricted accounts.
