Lake Stevens School District board approves GC/CM for multiple bond projects, authorizes RFPs

The Lake Stevens School District Board of Directors on Feb. 18 approved a series of resolutions to use the General Contractor/Construction Manager (GC/CM) delivery method for multiple bond-funded capital projects and authorized staff to begin soliciting proposals and bids.

Executive Director of Planning and Building Robb Stanton presented the districtBond Projects Plan, outlining major projects covered by the bond package. Those include a new Elementary School Number Eight and modernization/expansion of Glenwood Elementary; modernization and expansion of Skyline Elementary and Lake Stevens Middle School (LSMS); a Safety and Program Improvements project that lists secure receptions, special education space improvements and Hillcrest gym work; site work at Mt. Pilchuck that the district said would include a Secondary Innovative Learning Center, a central kitchen and a gym; secure portables; field lighting at Cavelero and North Lake; and secure perimeters.
