Commissioners approve BFJRA governance changes, appoint new member

Commissioners met Dec. 30 with representatives of the Bedford Fulton Joint Recreational Authority (BFJRA) and approved two amendments to the authority's articles of incorporation. The first amendment, adopted as Resolution 9 of 2025, increases the number of board members; the second, adopted as Resolution 10 of 2025, authorizes the BFJRA to appoint police officers who would have the same rights as other Commonwealth police officers with respect to the authority's property. Commissioner Steven L. Wible moved to approve and execute both resolutions and the motions carried "All in favor."
The board also appointed Craig Cutchall to a one-year term on the BFJRA expiring Jan. 3, 2027. Representatives Matthew Wakefield, Paul Johnston and Eric Weisbrod attended the meeting on behalf of the authority. The motions were recorded as approved; the transcript contains no roll-call vote details.
