The proclamation — approved in a motion by Commissioner Hervey P. Hann and entered into the record — “proclaim[es] March 2026 as Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month and do commend this observance to all of our citizens and recognize that Fulton County becomes a better place when people with and without disabilities come together to form strong, diverse communities, and knowing we are all One World, many Abilities!”
Human Services Director Julie Dovey and representatives from Occupational Services Inc., CRI, Franklin/Fulton Human Services, The Arc of Franklin/Fulton Counties, several residential providers and a consumer from The Arc attended the signing. Attendees who were listed in the county record included Marissa Hockenberry, Erica Ramsey, Rebecca Weaver, Deanna Shaeffer, Lorrie Miller, Lisa Grimes, Wendy Buckwalter, Lana Crouse, Logan Crouse and Stacey Brookens; Faye and Keith Butts were also present.
Commissioners did not take additional formal action tied to the proclamation beyond approval and the signing event. The proclamation was entered into the meeting minutes and will serve as the formal notice of the county observance.
