Long County commissioners pass ordinance, approve equipment purchase and adopt application form; several items tabled

The Long County Board of Commissioners took several formal actions Sept. 2, 2025. Commissioners approved Long County Ordinance 2025-13 on a 3–1 vote (Chairman James Craft cast the lone no vote). The ordinance was moved by Vice Chairman Gerald Blocker and seconded by Commissioner John Reddish.
The board also tabled a proposed amendment to the 2026 budget that would have placed $175,000 on hold; Commissioner Jeramy Hall moved to table the amendment and the board deferred the matter to the September work session. A motion to hold three hearings on the tax digest was also tabled.

A proposed easement granting from Connector Road to Bristol Pass was tabled pending receipt of a letter from the City of Walthourville or Liberty County confirming who will maintain the easement right-of-way if granted.
