Scotland selectmen approve transfers, move $13,994.25 in uncollected taxes to suspense and appoint town historian

The Scotland Board of Selectmen voted on several routine administrative actions at its May 28 meeting.
First Selectman Dana Barrow said the board would consider additions to the agenda, and Selectman Mike Gurnack moved to add approval of the Suspense list and to add approval of additional appropriations and transfers; both additions were seconded and the board carried the agenda changes. Selectman Mike Gurnack later moved (seconded by Bart Laws) to approve transferring $13,994.25 in uncollected property taxes to the Suspense Tax Book per a recommendation from Regional Revenue Collector Lisa Madden; the motion carried. Treasurer David Zito presented recommended appropriations and transfers and Dana Barrow moved to approve them; that motion carried as well.
Selectman Bart Laws moved (seconded by Mike Gurnack) to appoint Kevin Ring Sr. as Scotland’s town historian; the motion carried. The board also approved the minutes of its April 23, 2025 meeting; the meeting adjourned at 8:15 p.m.
