Fort Stockton ISD board approves literacy framework, grant submission, higher purchasing threshold and several routine items

Trustees voted unanimously on a slate of actions: certification of an unopposed trustee, approval of a literacy framework, authorization to apply for the LASO 4 TEA grant, raising the purchasing approval threshold to $100,000, purchasing four passenger wagons with bond funds, and accepting a donation for the high school band. The board also maintained current UIL participation policy and declined a statutory prayer resolution.

At its Feb. 23 meeting the Fort Stockton Independent School District board approved a package of policy and administrative motions including adoption of a District Literacy Framework, authorization to submit a LASO 4 grant application to the Texas Education Agency, an increase in the board approval threshold for single, budgeted purchases to $100,000, purchase of four 2025 Ford Transit Passenger Wagons using approved bond funds, and acceptance of a donation for the Fort Stockton High School Band.
