Vernon ISD trustees approve reappointments, personnel moves and set next meeting date

Trustees at the Sept. 22 Vernon ISD regular meeting approved routine board business that included two reappointments, personnel updates and a schedule change.
By unanimous vote, the board reappointed Emory Byars and Chris Lehman to represent Vernon ISD on the Wilbarger County Appraisal District Board of Directors; Trustee Carrie Hawkins made the motion and Trustee Amanda Lehman seconded. Personnel items recorded in the meeting packet included two new hires — Louis Patlan (custodian) and Ricky Pavuk (bus driver) — and the reassignment of Patty Martin from VHS custodian to VHS paraprofessional; no resignations or retirements were noted.
Trustees moved their October regular meeting from Oct. 20 (the last day of Fall Break) to Oct. 13. The board entered closed session at 6:47 p.m. and returned to open session at 7:30 p.m. The meeting adjourned at 7:31 p.m. on a motion by Trustee Amanda Lehman, seconded by Trustee Carrie Hawkins; the motion passed unanimously.
No Lone Star Governance action was taken on items presented under that heading during the meeting.
