Huntley Police Pension Fund certifies trustee elections, adds new Tier II member and names IDOI security designee

The Huntley Police Pension Fund Board of Trustees certified election results and completed several administrative actions at its April 24, 2025 meeting.

Lauterbach & Amen conducted elections for two active member positions and one retired member position. Trustee Timothy Heagney, Trustee Joseph Lanute and Trustee Michael Hewitt ran unopposed and were reelected to two‑year terms expiring May 11, 2027. Trustee Cathy Haley was noted as reappointed by the Mayor for an appointed member term expiring May 11, 2027. The Board certified the active member election results on a motion by Trustee Cathy Haley, seconded by Trustee Timothy Heagney; the motion carried unanimously by voice vote.

The Board also reviewed an application for membership submitted by Michael Silvestri. By motion from Trustee Timothy Heagney, seconded by Trustee Joseph Lanute, the Board accepted Michael Silvestri into the Huntley Police Pension Fund effective March 10, 2025 as a Tier II participant; the motion carried unanimously by voice vote.

On administrative business, the Board discussed changing the Fund's Illinois Department of Insurance (IDOI) Security Administrator and, by motion from Trustee Timothy Heagney seconded by Trustee Joseph Lanute, designated Kristi Ward-Nickels, Village of Huntley Director of Finance, as the IDOI Security Administrator Designee. The Board noted that the IDOI Annual Statement is in process and will be circulated to Trustees when complete.
