SafeHouse director outlines services and statistics as Chilton County proclaims Sexual Assault Awareness Month
Deborah Higgins, forensic medical services director for SafeHouse, told the Chilton County Commission the nonprofit provides free forensic exams, crisis-line support and shelter; she reported ~1,400 crisis calls, about 180 emergency shelterings and assistance to more than 600 victims in the past year.
