One public commenter, Brett Haddington Whitefield, urged the council to examine school contracts and benefit costs in broader budget debates; other residents stressed food security and senior services as top priorities. After council adjustments, the HSOA allocations passed unanimously.
The council asked staff to provide a complete list of current projects that rely on grant-match funds and to confirm any encumbrances prior to reallocating funds in future budgets.
