School board sets application process to fill vacant Post 5 seat
The Houston County Board of Education approved a process to appoint a replacement for the vacant Post 5 seat, accepting applications through 4 p.m. Friday, March 20, and scheduling applicant public comment at an April 6 work session; the board will appoint a member at its April 7 regular meeting.

The Houston County Board of Education on a 6–0 vote approved a process to fill the vacant Post 5 board seat, setting application instructions and a timeline for public comment and final appointment. Board member Mister Crockett made the motion to adopt the procedure and Mister Ivory seconded it.
