Extension hires 4‑H associate; Lehi campus plans final celebration May 12

Extension staff (addressed as Jen) told the committee the program recently hired a 4‑H associate educator and that Mallory McGinnern, who had been serving as interim director, will remain with Marathon County Extension in the 4‑H role. Staff said 4‑H spring-break activities are under way and summer programming is being planned.

Extension staff also noted the small-scale vegetable producer conference previously scheduled was postponed by weather and is being rescheduled for November. They urged interested residents to watch the extension report for registration details.

The extension report highlighted a Central Wisconsin Housing Summit on April 15 and described collaboration with the county Conservation Planning & Zoning department on workshops that helped Amish and Mennonite producers write nutrient-management plans without computers.

Miranda, reporting for UWSP Lehi, said the campus is past mid‑semester, staff are moving materials and planning surpluses for the transfer to NTC/Stevens Point, and a final campus celebration for students, alumni and faculty is planned for the evening of May 12.
