Manchester students showcase projects at regional and national conferences

A student team represented the district at a WCC STEAM poster session, and two student presenters — Natalie and Amelia — attended the National Career Pathways Network conference in New Orleans as some of the youngest session presenters. Students said their school business, which began in eighth grade and sells doughnuts at school events, drew adult interest and engaged conference attendees.
One student described personal growth from participation in the program: "My confidence is so much higher... He made it so that I feel so comfortable talking person to person," the student said, crediting Mr. Walsh’s class and participation in events such as DECA and state competitions. Board members repeatedly praised the students’ presence and the district’s entrepreneurial program as a "great testament" to Manchester schools.
Administrators said these appearances demonstrate program strength and help students develop practical communication and business skills. No awards or competition placements beyond the presentations were reported in the meeting record.
The board thanked the students and their teacher and encouraged continued participation in external conferences.
