Council approves Padre Boulevard median makeover with 39 decorative pots and 90‑day contract window

The presenter said roughly 78 of the island medians will receive improvements and that 39 islands will get the cast‑concrete pots.
Council discussed materials and lead time for the pots, maintenance benefits from reduced irrigation, and a contract time of 90 days intended to allow completion before peak summer visitation.
The council moved and seconded approval; no roll-call votes were recorded in the transcript and the motion carried.
Next steps: staff said bids will be solicited and a contract awarded so the work can proceed in phases; the city will later bring TxDOT median plans for review as a second phase.
