Foley board hears plan for district‑run online high‑school using Edgenuity

Staff described enrollment and staffing rules: students could enroll full‑ or part‑time, the district would limit mid‑trimester transfers and allow three enrollments per year, and certain CTE or hands‑on courses would still require in‑person participation. "By state law... a section is 40 students," S4 said, noting that state section sizes shape how many sections the district must open and how staffing will be allocated.
Board members asked about graduation eligibility, attendance monitoring and whether students would retain a Foley diploma; S4 said students completing sufficient district coursework would be eligible to participate in graduation. A board committee reported it had already made a formal motion and approved moving the proposal forward for additional planning and recommended staff continue developing implementation details.
Next steps noted during the meeting included continued committee work, refinement of staffing and registration rules, and bringing a detailed implementation plan back to the board for formal approval.
