The Ware County Board of Commissioners on Dec. 8 added a rezoning request for 355 E. Blackshear Avenue to its regular agenda after a Planning Commission recommendation in favor.
County Manager James Shubert told the board the owner, Eagle's Nest Church, seeks to rezone 2.151 acres of a 3.44-acre parcel from R-50MH (residential) to C-1 (neighborhood commercial) to allow use of an adjacent building for television, audio and film recording. Commissioner Leonard Burse asked staff about the presence of two buildings; Shubert said the church sits next to the building proposed for rezoning and that churches are allowed in all districts, so the change affects only the portion of the parcel that contains the second building.
No members of the public spoke for or against the request during the hearing. The board placed the rezoning request on the regular meeting agenda for formal consideration.
