The Suffield Board of Education approved a revised Wellness Policy (6142.101) required by the triennial food-service review; the update formally guarantees student access to free drinking water in every cafeteria. The motion passed 8–0–1.

The Suffield Board of Education on Feb. 19 unanimously approved revisions to Policy #6142.101, the district’s wellness policy, formalizing student access to free drinking water in every cafeteria during mealtimes. Assistant Superintendent Laura Norbut, Ed.D., told the board the change is required by the triennial review of the federal- and state-funded food service program and reflects an existing practice the district is now codifying.
