Staff presented a change-order and contingency analysis that summarized tracked PCOs and their financial impact on the districts capital projects.
Staff told members that the change-order analysis shows 282 total PCOs tracked: 54 from the contractor's contingency, four from other sources and 224 from the owner's contingency. Staff provided a project-level breakdown: for Farmington High School (FHS) staff reported 52 of 249 change orders designated as errors and omissions (about 21%), and said "the dollar value of those error and omission change orders is just over 1,000,000 dollars." Staff also reported total FHS change orders of about $4,300,000.
On the central office project staff reported 33 change orders, of which 12 (36.4%) were designated as errors and omissions, with a reported financial impact of about $122,000 out of a $245,000 total. Staff said many change orders are being reconciled and that credits are being returned to contingency balances; staff committed to update the slide and email an updated breakdown to committee members.
The figures cited in the meeting were read from staff slides and described as an update; staff acknowledged minor variations in prior slides and agreed to circulate a corrected version. The subcommittee did not take further formal action on the analysis during the meeting.
