Champions presents Champ Camp at Robb Elementary; program open to community

Alexa Wasser, site director for Champions at Robb Elementary School, told the Keystone Central School District board that Champ Camp will run June 15–Aug. 14, Monday–Friday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. and is open to children ages 4 through 12 (pre‑K through sixth grade), not limited to Robb students.
Wasser highlighted flexible weekly scheduling so families pay only for time in care, along with planned field trips, site visitors and a curriculum that includes weekly themed activities. Lead pre‑K teacher Emily Wheeler and before/after‑school lead Julie Bonar described weekly programming units (friendship, creativity, innovation, movement and outdoors), water‑play Wednesdays, mock trials and local field trips that have included Daughter’s Dairy, the Piper Aviation Museum and Riverview Park. Presenters said Champ Camp works with the early learning resource center to provide subsidy options for families in need.
Trustees asked whether the program was listed with IU‑10; Wasser said Champions was not listed there and welcomed the board’s assistance connecting with the intermediate unit. Board members also asked about transportation; presenters said families are responsible for drop‑off and pick‑up, though Champions can coordinate information on transit or subsidies for families that request help. The board moved the Champ Camp agenda item ahead so families attending would not wait through other reports.
The board did not take formal action on the presentation; Champions staff directed families interested in enrollment to discoverchampions.com and said staff would follow up with the board on IU‑10 listing and subsidy coordination.
