The City of Altoona council approved both the preliminary and final plats for "LPL Plat 2," a 7.78-acre subdivision that will be divided into four buildable lots, during its May 5 meeting.
Community Development Director John Shaw introduced the item, describing the site plan and access. Korey Marsh of Snyder & Associates told the council that "utilities will be extending along the private drive to service these lots." Councilmember Dunwoody moved to approve the preliminary plat "subject to legal & deficiencies," and Councilmember Duer subsequently moved to approve the final plat under the same conditions. Both motions passed on roll-call votes recorded as unanimous (5-0).
The plats call for a private drive providing access to 1st Ave S and Edwin W. Skinner Parkway. Council discussion and motions placed approvals conditional on resolving legal issues and outstanding deficiencies in the final documents. The council did not amend the development conditions during the meeting.
Next steps include completion of required legal review and corrections before recording of the plat and any site work or permit activity by the developer. The developer representative was present to confirm utility connections and access plans.
