Council hears report that pump controller and VFDs need replacement; grant work underway
Town staff reported the variable frequency drive (VFD) controller for pressurizing pumps is failing and that smaller pump controllers haven't been maintained in decades; staff said contingency funds and a pending grant are being sought to finance repairs.

Town public-works representatives told the council that key water-system components need repair or replacement. Richard (S4) said the "controller for the pumps, for the, pressurizing pump is dying" and clarified this refers to the variable frequency drive (VFD) that controls three pumps; he added smaller controllers have not been maintained for 20 years.
