Cheyenne County board adopts 2025 Colorado Wildfire Resiliency Code, approves permits and schedules road-vacation hearing
On March 10, 2026, the Cheyenne County Board of Commissioners approved the 2025 Colorado Wildfire Resiliency Code and directed staff to produce an informational pamphlet for new-construction builders; the board also approved a Rush Creek Cattle utility permit, passed a conditional-use resolution with conditions, and agreed to schedule a public hearing on vacating roads and alleys in Arapahoe.

The Cheyenne County Board of Commissioners on March 10 approved several measures intended to affect building practices and local land use. Commissioner Rick Pelton moved, with a second from Commissioner RJ Jolly, to adopt the 2025 Colorado Wildfire Resiliency Code and to create an informational pamphlet aimed at new-construction builders; the motion passed.
