The commission approved two resolutions to correct mapping and reference errors in the AIM Norman comprehensive land-use plan.
Staff said the first resolution (R-2526-124) corrects a character-area omission west of the University of Oklahoma campus and adjusts a small area in the Chautauqua vicinity from urban medium to urban low to reflect steering-committee direction. The second resolution (R-2526-123) revises the plan’s tables to add missing zoning districts, remove unintended overlay districts from the open-space tables, and generally clean up references so applicants have clearer guidance when discussing appropriate zoning with staff.
Patrick Schrank, who served on the AIM steering committee, spoke in support of the map correction and urged commissioners to be mindful of the gap between adopted land-use guidance and current straight zoning when evaluating future rezoning requests. The commission approved both resolutions 7-0.
