District launches bilingual parent survey for California Dashboard local indicator on family engagement

Susie Bridal, assistant director of accountability and educational technology, and Gina Perez from family engagement told the DAC the district is collecting parent input for the California Dashboard local indicator on parent and family engagement (Priority 3).
Bridal described the dashboard context and said the local indicators are an annual reporting requirement the district uses to assess family engagement and plan improvements. "Priority 3 is specific to parental involvement and family engagement," she said, and staff asked families to provide feedback that will help teams identify strengths and gaps.
Perez explained the survey mechanics: a bilingual (English/Spanish) Google form accessible by QR code or bit.ly, paper copies available for in‑person attendees, and a request that parents complete one survey per school per child. She encouraged participants to rate multiple sections (building relationships, welcoming environments, two‑way communication, family resources, professional learning to support family partnerships and more) and described the district’s tools — ParentSquare, Aeries and Panorama — used to collect and act on feedback.
Perez said staff will proactively reach out to district advisory representatives and alternates who could not attend and will accept phone responses to ensure broad representation. The presentation emphasized that the Panorama family survey and local LCAP input inform how the district allocates LCFF supplemental and concentration funds and designs supports for sites.
