The Nemaha County Board of Commissioners on April 8 accepted a quote from Midwest Engineering Inc. for 2026 routine, special, and NSTM (FC) bridge inspections at a cost of $21,120 and directed staff to begin the road-rebuild bid process.
Two quotes were presented: Mainelli Wagner & Associates, Inc. for $20,705 and Midwest Engineering Inc. for $21,120. Commissioner Bryan Mellage moved, and Commissioner Mike Hall seconded, acceptance of the Midwest Engineering quote; the motion passed on a unanimous roll-call vote.
The board also discussed Bridge #C006423450 (Box Culvert Project C-64(252) Nemaha Southeast) and directed initiation of the road rebuild bid process; Drew Jones of Final Grade Construction spoke to the commissioners about the road-rebuild item.
Separately, a driveway agreement for Merrill Fisher was withdrawn. The board approved a driveway agreement for Imogene Dunekacke at 72743 629 Ave on motion by Weiss, seconded by Mellage; that motion passed unanimously. The minutes do not include detailed construction schedules or traffic-control plans for either the bridge work or driveway construction.
