Board honors Menlo Atherton cheer team for program growth

Superintendent Leach introduced the recognition and invited Principal Carl Luscoot to present certificates to coaches Danielle Daniels and Avery Westbrook and members of the squad. Luscoot said the program had grown from only a few members when he began to a broadly representative team of roughly 28 students that practices year‑round and supports school events.
The coaches and students performed spirited chants and the board thanked the team for their representation of the school. The recognition was a non‑controversial item on the agenda and drew applause from the audience.
No district action was required; the recognition was part of routine acknowledgments of student achievement at the board meeting.
