During its March 31 session the Crawford County Board of Supervisors carried several routine consent and business items. The Board recognized multiple seasonal and part-time hires in the Engineer’s Department, naming Richard Rasmussen, Mitchell Schwartz, Barry Jurgensen, Kay Blunk, Vernis Nihsen, Charlie Gotto, William Blunk and Damon Ehlers.
Kurt Miller of the Hoffman Agency presented the Board with 2025 machinery insurance valuations; Supervisor Schultz moved and Supervisor Heiden seconded a motion to approve the valuations, and the motion passed unanimously. Miller also discussed insurance deductibles with the Board; no change was made.
The Board approved a tax abatement for a new residence at 2815 Hwy 59 in Denison for Jason Rasmussen on a motion by Supervisor Schultz, seconded by Supervisor Heiden; the motion passed unanimously. Supervisor Muhlbauer moved (seconded by Rosburg) to approve a proclamation designating April 2026 as Child Abuse Prevention Month in Crawford County; the motion passed unanimously.
Assistant County Attorney Martha Sibble discussed the All-Rise Conference and possible reimbursement of funds with the Board; no action was taken. Zach Rasmussen provided an EMA update and presented names for the EMS Task Force/EMSAC; no action was taken on those names at this meeting.
