Council approves consent agenda, pay apps and Stonebridge Plat 2 final plat

At its Dec. 2 meeting the Altoona City Council approved the consent agenda and several routine actions by unanimous roll call vote.
Consent items included Pay App #6 to Absolute Group for the 8th Street SW Reconstruction-Phase 2 in the amount of $369,920.62 and Pay App #5 to AVR Excavating Inc. for Spring Creek Park South Pond Bank Stabilization in the amount of $4,000. The council also approved resolutions to appoint the city’s MPO representatives, authorized an application and matching funds for the Trees Please! grant program, and set public hearings for Dec. 16 to consider wastewater and water service charge rate amendments and plans for the Prairie Heritage Civic Center Plaza pond improvements. The council accepted a public utility easement, approved an addendum to the Foth services agreement for Tuscany Pond enhancement, and accepted public improvements for Ironwood Park pickleball courts.
On the Stonebridge Plat 2 final plat, Community Development Director John Shaw said the developer, Cramer and Associates, completed utilities and paving work had started but not finished. The developer discussed lot sizes; Councilmember Scott Duer moved approval subject to deficiencies being met and the motion passed 5-0.
The council also approved the Fire Department fee schedule and scheduled other routine administrative items. These consent and administrative approvals passed without public comment.
