At the April meeting the Calexico Unified School District board approved a slate of routine and project items by motion, covering audits, vendor agreements, program partnerships and construction bids.
Items approved included fiscal-year audit certifications for Measure B and Q bond funds, an agreement with Premier Electrical Solutions for poolbox and feeder work at Rockwood Elementary, a sign-repair contract for Cesar Chavez Elementary, adoption of the state's approved K-2 reading screener (no cost), and a district/city agreement to support the 2025 swim program and public access. The board also awarded construction and HVAC contracts (bid awards recorded) for Calexico High School and other sites.
Most consent items passed unanimously or by recorded roll-call support. Several trustees used the consent discussion to note procedural clarifications (for example, only one HVAC bid was received and staff explained outreach efforts) and to commend staff for student programs and recent competitions.
The board then recessed to closed session as scheduled.
