Frederick County Council approves three roads for Rustic Roads Program

After staff briefings and public comment, the Council approved nominations for Angleberger, Bottomley and Wilhide roads to the Rustic Roads Program; the final Wilhide vote was unanimous after Council Member M.C. Keegan‑Ayer joined virtually.
Christopher 'Beau' Lockhart, Principal Planner II in the Planning & Permitting Division, presented three nominations to add roads to Frederick County’s Rustic Roads Program. Public comment was heard at each hearing. Council Member Mason Carter moved to approve the Angleberger and Bottomley nominations; Council Member Steve McKay seconded both motions and each passed 6-0-1 with Council Member M.C. Keegan‑Ayer absent. For Wilhide Road, which was presented later, Council Member M.C. Keegan‑Ayer joined virtually at 6:40 p.m.; Carter moved approval, McKay seconded and the motion passed 7-0.
The Council approved Angleberger Road (Wilhide Road to Bottomley Road), Bottomley Road (Angleberger Road to Wilhide Road), and Wilhide Road (Stevens Road to Blacks Mill Road) for inclusion in the Rustic Roads Program. Public commenters included Chris Lewis, Joel Anderson and Liz‑Anne Brevel LaColmb.
The nominations will be processed by Planning & Permitting according to the Rustic Roads Program procedures.
