Residents urge Henefer to plan cemetery expansion as lots near capacity

Henefer — During the March 3, 2026 public discussion the Henefer Town Council heard from resident Rozanne Staples and others about a need to expand the town cemetery and improve access.
Rozanne Staples said the cemetery is starting to run out of room, that modern standard burial-lot sizes require more space per grave and that the town should consider acquiring additional land and building another road to access gravesites. Staples suggested the town purchase a mini excavator to support burials and maintenance and estimated the cemetery currently has enough lots for roughly 10–20 years. Donald Fulton recommended the town rent a mini excavator rather than buy one.
