Summary
The Henefer Town Council voted March 3, 2026 to adopt the Caselle utility payment system and authorized necessary changes; staff said Caselle appears less costly than the town’s current Xpress system and will require residents to set up new accounts.
Henefer — Henefer’s Town Council voted to move the town’s utility payments to the Caselle platform, approving the changes and purchase of the Caselle module during the March 3, 2026 meeting.
Ashlee Vernon, listed among town staff, outlined administrative advantages of Caselle over the current Xpress payment program, saying Caselle would cost less, be more user-friendly for residents and provide an online subscription option for emergency notifications. Vernon also said resident account information does not transfer from Xpress and that customers will need to create new accounts on Caselle.
Mayor Kay H. Richins called for a motion to make the changes needed to implement Caselle; Councilmember Chad West moved and Alec Deru seconded, and the motion passed unanimously. The council recorded the decision during the action portion of the meeting.
Why it matters: The change affects how residents pay utility bills and how staff administers payments and notifications. Staff will have to support account setup for residents and communicate the transition steps.
