Weld County adopts Colorado Wildfire Resiliency Code on second reading

The Weld County Board of County Commissioners approved on second reading Code Ordinance 2026-06, which repeals and reenacts chapter 7 of the Weld County Code to adopt miscellaneous standard codes including the Colorado Wildfire Resiliency Code.
Staff told the board there were no changes from the first reading, and the chair opened a public hearing on the ordinance. No members of the public spoke during the hearing. After a motion to approve on second reading, the board voted and the ordinance carried.
The adoption replaces chapter 7 with the adopted standards and is intended to align county building codes with the Colorado Wildfire Resiliency Code; staff did not read substantive revisions at second reading and no additional public input was recorded at this meeting.
