Staff told the commission that Warrick County will undergo an audit of floodplain permitting and related records, scheduled to begin May 12. The audit will review permits issued in the floodplain, elevation certificates and floodplain development permits, and staff said the auditors have provided a draft version of a floodplain ordinance they would like the county to consider.
"They're come May 12," staff said. (Staff member)
Why it matters: The audit will examine past permitting decisions and may prompt recommendations or a revised floodplain ordinance; staff said the county has not undergone this audit since about 2012 and will prepare records accordingly.
Next steps: Staff will forward audit materials to commissioners and participate in the audit; any ordinance changes recommended by the auditors would be reviewed by the commission.
