Consent items included change order #6 for Alliance Construction (8th Street widening) for $65,199.47 and Pay App #10 for $80,642.55; roofing contracts with Bailey Roofing Contractors for $58,600 and $79,500; acceptance of a public utility easement in the amount of $40,973.00; and resolutions to participate in IHHS/IME GEMT uncompensated cost programs and an intergovernmental transfer agreement. The council set public hearings for Oct. 21 on a conditional rezoning to C‑4 at 202 2nd Street SE and a comprehensive plan amendment for the same property.
Community Development Director John Shaw and City Administrator Randy Pierce noted staff had worked with applicants to resolve outstanding items on plats and site plans. Roll‑call votes on these formal items were recorded as 4‑0 in favor with Councilmember Boka absent. Department heads provided brief updates from police, fire, public utilities, engineering, community development, economic development, library, HR, IT and finance before the meeting adjourned at 6:54 p.m.
