Commissioner (moving the motion) said, "I make a motion that our commission has a booth at the Earth Day event on April 23 to coincide with off the grid." The motion was seconded and passed by voice vote.
Why it matters: Commission members saw the booth as a low-cost way to promote the concert series, recruit volunteers and offer a public-facing presence. Commissioners agreed the commission would cover its own costs for staffing and materials and that the service committee could shape the booth activity and give-out items. Several members volunteered for shifts between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. during the Off the Grid event.
