The Bluff Planning & Zoning Commission voted unanimously March 5 to adopt its work goals for 2026, prioritizing a comprehensive Zoning Code rework and improvements to enforcement.
The commission identified two primary tasks: (1) a Zoning Code rework that will address housing, open-lands policy, mapping and/or overlays for the Wildland-Urban Interface (WUI), an airport overlay consistent with an earlier code change, cemetery zoning, and floodplain mapping or flood-resilience guidelines; and (2) enforcement revisions to provide consistent and equitable consequences across town ordinances and to assist Town Council with enforcement policy.
Commissioner Brian Whitney moved to adopt the goals; Commissioner Marcia Hadenfeldt seconded. The vote was five in favor, none opposed. Commissioners also said they would prioritize commissioner professional development, execute site visits, and monitor new state land-use legislation as secondary priorities.
The adopted goals will guide the commission's work plan through 2026, including the RV-ordinance review and coordination with Town Council on WUI mapping if the council elects to designate WUI areas.
