Delray Beach Historic Preservation Board names 2026 award winners

The City of Delray Beach Historic Preservation Board on April 15 reviewed completed projects and selected its 2026 Historic Preservation Board Award winners, across residential, commercial and individually designated property categories.
Michelle Hoyland, principal planner for the record, opened the evening’s deliberations and walked the board through nominees drawn from local historic districts, noting that all nominees had Certificates of Occupancy and that May is National Historic Preservation Month.
In the category for residential contributing additions and rehabilitation, the board selected 108 Northwest 4th Avenue in the West Settlers Historic District. Staff described the property as a completed rehabilitation with a modest addition; board members said the recent work had rescued a resource that might otherwise have been lost. The motion to name 108 NW 4th Ave the winner was made by Board member Chris Cabezas and carried on a roll-call vote with six yes votes and one member absent.
