Columbia County approves extensions and price adjustments for solid-waste contracts
The board approved several solid-waste contract changes: a three-year extension proposal for household-hazardous-waste operations with a 3.3% rate adjustment, a transport/disposal pricing update with Waste Connections that sets $50.50/ton in 2027 and ties later years to West Coast CPI, a one-month operations-extension to finish RFP negotiations, and a quarry amendment adjusting quantities and adding cleanup blasting costs.

Columbia County commissioners approved multiple contract amendments at their Nov. 18 meeting covering household hazardous-waste operations, transport and disposal of materials from the county transfer station, a short-term extension for transfer-station operations while staff completes a request-for-proposal, and a quarry-material contract amendment.
