Oscoda County reports improved ice-storm response; 15 CDBG-funded generators on order

County officials said ice-storm response improved this year, the Mio Community Center served briefly as a warming station, and 15 generators are on order under a Community Development Block Grant urgent-need program for local distribution.

Commissioner Charles E. Varner, Jr. and County Administrator Michelle Knepp reported on Oscoda County’s response to a recent ice storm during the March 24 meeting. Varner said local departments coordinated effectively even though the county was not included in the state emergency declaration.
