The Altoona City Council approved a multi-item consent agenda Aug. 5 that bundled routine and project-related approvals and requests.
Notable items in the consent package included Change Order No. 4 with Alliance Construction for the 8th Street widening project in the amount of $2,958.10 and Pay Application No. 8 for the 8th Street SE Widening project for $701,487.85. The package also authorized design and professional services agreements with McClure Engineering for upcoming water-system improvements (Well #5 & NE 80th, Jordan Wells 5 & 6, Water Treatment Plant #4, Adventureland Drive transmission main), a resolution approving requests for tax abatement, and a resolution accepting a public utility easement to Meadowland II LLC for $2,590.00.
The consent agenda included event approvals (Olde Town Art contest; Time Travel race; Adventureland drone displays) and three alcohol license items. The entire consent agenda passed by roll call vote.
Approvals consolidate routine project payments and contracting steps and enable staff to continue scheduled construction and design work; the council did not debate the items individually in the meeting minutes.
