Summary
Board staff presented the 2025 audit, reporting a "clean opinion," and the Topeka Development Corporation board voted to accept the audit at its April 14 meeting.
The Topeka Development Corporation board on April 14 accepted the corporation’s 2025 audit after staff reported auditors issued a clean opinion. Josh, the board clerk, told members the audit covered the fiscal year Jan. 1–Dec. 31, 2025, and that auditors reported no issues in their governance letter.
The clean opinion means auditors found the TDC’s financial statements fairly presented. "We received a clean opinion of the audit. That's the highest opinion we can get," Josh said. He also noted the TDC is a component unit of the city's audit, which staff expect to be disclosed to the governing body in late June or early July.
Following the presentation, a board member moved to accept the audit and the board approved the motion by voice vote with no opposition. There were no substantive questions recorded during the presentation.
The board then moved on to other agenda items.
