Board approves text amendment clarifying RV and boat storage use type

The Douglas County Board of Commissioners approved a zoning text amendment on April 14 that clarifies the RV and boat storage use type may be used for storage rather than being restricted to rental or sales.
Laura Dietrich, planning and zoning coordinator, told the board the change simply removes language that had limited the use type "for the purpose of rental or sale" so that the use type can explicitly be for storage. Dietrich said the Planning Commission heard the proposal and recommended approval at its March 18 meeting.
With no public comment on the item, the board closed the public hearing and approved the amendment by a unanimous 7–0 vote. The change updates the county’s use matrix (Article 4) to make the storage intent explicit and retain other related regulations such as floodplain compliance.
