Scurry County designates week in May 2026 as Corrections Week
The Scurry County Commissioners adopted a proclamation recognizing Corrections Week at the Scurry County Jail and asked citizens to acknowledge corrections staff; the court voted to illuminate the courthouse in silver as a symbol of support.

The Scurry County Commissioners on a voice vote designated a week in May 2026 as Corrections Week to recognize the county jail staff’s role in maintaining safety, security and humane care at the Scurry County Jail. Chair (speaker 4) read the proclamation and asked citizens to show appreciation for the “dedicated men and women at Scurry County Jail.”
