Summary
Marquette County parks staff said a snowmobile-trail grant application due April 15 requires a revised resolution and an additional roughly $10,000 in state snowmobile-fund money to install a 24-inch culvert in Oxford; the committee approved sending the resolution to the county board.
The Marquette County parks committee approved a resolution to support a snowmobile-trail grant application for Oxford and will forward the resolution to the county board.
Pat (parks staff) told the committee the grant application is due Wednesday the 15th and the project requires an updated resolution because the last one was filed about five years ago. He said the Oxford project involves moving a crossing on a landowner's driveway and adding a 24-inch culvert; he estimated the change adds about $10,000 to the request and said the work would be financed from state snowmobile-fund money.
Pat said DNR has indicated a permit would be allowable because the crossing is an upland/unnamed tributary rather than a wetland fill, and that an 18-inch culvert sits just upstream with the new work sized at 24 inches. "It's very small," Pat said of the tributary, and added DNR has signaled it will permit the work.
A committee member moved that the committee approve the resolution and send it to the county board; the motion was seconded and carried by voice vote. Pat said the resolution will be routed to the county board as required for the county's part of the grant process.
The transcript does not record a roll-call tally; committee minutes reflect the motion carried by voice vote. The committee did not alter the grant scope beyond the requested culvert adjustment during the meeting.
