Davie council approves CIP amendment, lighting code first reading and multiple board appointments

At the meeting the Davie Town Council unanimously approved a capital improvements plan amendment, passed a lighting-code ordinance on first reading, approved a comprehensive-plan amendment, and confirmed several appointments and reappointments to town boards.
The Davie Town Council unanimously approved several routine agenda items and appointments during the meeting following an extended presentation on the Broward Solid Waste Authority master plan.
Council members voted to approve the second amendment to the town’s 10‑year capital improvements program. The clerk recorded a unanimous roll-call vote in favor by Mayor Paul, Vice Mayor Whitman, and Council members Starkey, Lewis and Alfonso.
The council then approved the first reading of a lighting‑standards ordinance; the second reading will be held April 15. The town also approved a comprehensive plan amendment concerning the water-supply facilities work plan; a second hearing on that ordinance is also scheduled for April 15.
Council made and approved a number of appointments: Angel Dela Rosa was appointed as a trustee to the Town of Davie Police Pension Board; several planning and zoning board members were reappointed; and additional council appointments to town committees were confirmed by voice vote or roll call as noted on the agenda.
No members of the public spoke during the public hearings for the CIP and the two ordinances. The meeting concluded after council members shared community announcements and staff acknowledgements; the mayor then adjourned the meeting.
