Cherokee County DSS asks board to back negotiations for improved NEMT services

Amanda T. McGee informed board members that the county's non-emergency medical transportation (NEMT) contract is limited in days and hours, serving clients only Monday, Wednesday and Friday after 10:00 a.m. with a required return to the van by 2:00 p.m. She said the referral and trip-booking process is antiquated and inefficient, causing client drop-offs, staff frustration and wasted staff time.
