Summary
Board approved a Food Truck Friday series (May 8, May 22, June 5, June 19) with themes and collaborations; June 19 will be an oldies night in the park with an approved band booking and a 5–10 p.m. event window, beer-garden sponsorship pending.
The Selma City Business Improvement District board approved a multi-date Food Truck Friday series and authorized details for the June 19 event after discussing locations, entertainment and vendor logistics.
Staff outlined four dates: May 8 (fiesta night), May 22 (country night coordinated with Public Works appreciation), June 5 (family/DJ night) and June 19 (oldies/throwback). The board approved holding the June 19 event in the park, with a motion to secure entertainment and run the event roughly 5–10 p.m.
Staff said the series will include a beer garden and potential craft-beer sponsorship; proceeds from beer-garden sales were proposed to flow back into the enhancement corporation to fund future downtown projects such as lighting. "If they can sponsor the beer, that means we don't have to purchase it," staff said.
The board moved and approved the June 19 booking (motion carried by voice vote) and indicated staff may finalize entertainment contracts and vendor logistics in the coming weeks. Staff also described plans to coordinate public-works equipment displays and a band gazebo on May 22.
Next steps: staff to confirm entertainment contracts, finalize vendor locations with Public Works and circulate an event flyer for promotion.
