The Lucas City Council approved its consent agenda on Dec. 18, which included approval of the Nov. 20 meeting minutes and the quarterly investment report ending Sept. 2025. The motion carried by voice vote.
On board appointments, the council reappointed and promoted a slate of volunteers to two‑year terms beginning Jan. 1, 2026, and expiring Dec. 31, 2027. Motions were made to reappoint and promote members on the Planning & Zoning Commission (also serving as the Capital Improvements Advisory Committee), the Board of Adjustments (also serving as the Building & Standards Commission), and the Parks & Open Space Board (also the Lucas Farmers Market Committee). The council approved the recommendations by voice vote.
Names named during the appointment motions included John Owezick (Planning & Zoning reappointment), Brian Dell (moved from alternate to commissioner), Tom Redmond, Brenda Rises, Richard Schertz (alternate) and Rebecca Orr (Board of Adjustments), and Brian Bellows and Michelle Miller on the Parks & Open Space Board. The council recorded the motions and approved them unanimously by voice vote.
